VACAYA Luxe trips are unapologetically exclusive – welcoming to all, of course, but built for discerning travelers seeking intimate experiences, splendid accommodations, and unparalleled service. If you’ve ever wanted to explore the world in style in a friendly and intimate setting, VACAYA Luxe’s small-ship voyages have distinct advantages over their big-ship counterparts. Super yachts gracefully dock in quaint harbors that bulkier oceangoing vessels simply can’t access. The ability to call in ports of all sizes allows for more intriguing itineraries. Small ships also tend to stay longer (including overnights) and dock closer to town, giving you more time to explore. There are no crowds to beat, so you can see places at their most pleasant and authentic.

One of the advantages of a small ship is that our guests get to experience these life-changing, bucket-list destinations with like-minded adults, including our V Team and cruise line crew. While our returning guests see familiar faces and continue to strengthen existing bonds, new guests report that our community is the most welcoming at sea (or on land). At the end of each trip in our guest satisfaction survey, we ask guests to report whether they made a new friend on their vacation. So, we actually have the data to back this up!

One of VACAYA’s main missions is to leave the communities we visit better than we found them through our ReachOUT initiatives. While on vacation, we’ll give guests the opportunity to give back through sweat equity (volunteering) or through financial donation. We’re working on several meaningful options for our 2024 ReachOUT initiatives. So stay tuned for more details, which will be outlined on our GET READY page and in our social media.

Experience delicious, globally-inspired cuisine with our always-included onboard dining that offers true culinary adventure. Whether you prefer a sophisticated three-course meal amid an ambience of casual elegance, indulgent barbecue favorites poolside, or quick and easy on-the-go snacks to grab before your adventures, it’s always included.

Inspired by Atlas Ocean Voyages’ rich Portuguese heritage, our elegant main restaurant offers delectable cuisine with menus changing daily and a sophisticated ambiance, both indoors and alfresco. Plus, a specialty dinner menu, aptly named ALMA after the Portuguese word for “soul,” offers homestyle dishes just like they were cooked by grandma.

We’ve perfected the art of jospering (that’s grilling) in our specialty chophouse. Bask in fine cuts and fresh seafood at dinner or enjoy a more casual lunch served poolside.

The pool deck is a gathering space and hot spot for connecting with everyone while catching a quick bite to eat following an excursion or a late-night snack before retiring for a restful night.

Take in the 270-degree views after your day of exploring, all the while enjoying a wide selection of teas and a delectable spread of finger sandwiches, cookies, and more in our Observation Lounge.

Stop by our cozy café for a grab-and-go snack or breakfast, including muffins, doughnuts, boost drinks, specialty teas, and La Cimbali fresh-pressed coffees. For a midday snack, choose from sandwiches, wraps, and salads.

Enjoy breakfast in bed or tapas from our “always available” menu, with room service delivered to your stateroom. As part of our suite extras, when you book a suite, enjoy full room service dining.

As concerns about environmental sustainability have become more prominent in the collective conscious, a greater emphasis has been placed on responsible travel practices. As lovers of the sea and the wondrous treasures of our planet, VACAYA and Atlas Ocean Voyages are committed to the protection of the environment and respecting indigenous communities. Taking the actions below helps us keep the environment thriving for today’s explorers and future generations.

Our intimate, yacht-style ships realize the possibilities of environmental stewardship with the latest hybrid power management and propulsion systems, maximizing fuel efficiency and consuming as low as one-fifth the fuel compared to conventional cruise-ship systems, reducing our impact on the environment.

We minimize underwater noise that stresses marine wildlife by using a hydro-jet propulsion system that allows our ships to cruise virtually silent up to five knots for incomparable, up-close encounters while keeping the sensitive ecosystem in mind. It’s also our responsibility to prevent damage to the fragile ecosystems on ocean floors. That’s why we avoid using anchors to maintain ship position by using a GPS-based Dynamic Position System.

It’s important to make the effort to keep waterways clear for a cleaner environment. By building ships with the latest and most advanced waste management and water treatment plant in the cruise industry, Atlas takes the proper steps to control waste on board. That includes storing litter that cannot be repurposed or reclaimed in a dedicated hold until landing, where it will be disposed of responsibly. Plus, Atlas offers still and sparkling water delivered in reusable glass bottles on board to help reduce waste.

There are currently no extensions for this cruise.

Rivaling the very best European capitals for sophistication and culture, the tree-lined streets of chic Buenos Aires host stellar restaurants, world-class art galleries and museums, the gorgeous Teatro de Colon, and the primary-colored houses of La Boca. As the sun sets, Recoleta comes to life and the feverish melodies of the tango rise along San Telmo’s cobbled streets.

We’re once again partnering with LGBT-owned and operated Lunfarda Travel for pre-cruise adventures in and around BA. So be sure to schedule at least 3 or 4 extra days in the city before our cruise begins.

Oh, Uruguay. How we loooooove you! Spend the day here in Punta del Este enjoying this beautiful, chic beach resort, its marinas, museums, and endless shopping. While warm sands remain a major attraction, the many small fishing villages along the coast are also havens for artists and getaways for celebrities. On the streets and beaches, you’ll find a glamorous mix of bronzed hedonists and wealthy holidaymakers. Together, they help create a cozy, relaxed city full of high-end restaurants and world-class galleries and museums.

It’s Sunday, and with everything closed ashore, there’s no better day of the week for a sea day than today. Sleep in. Relax onboard. Take a long, leisurely lunch. And then join us on the upper decks for our first V-Dance of the week under the warm South American sun. As a reminder… on our smaller Luxe trips, our parties are more of the cocktail variety, but if you want to dance, DANCE!

Known for its perfect beaches, excellent surfing, amazing seafood, and beautiful architecture, Itajaí is a thriving destination. We’ll arrive late afternoon/early evening and you’ll have the chance to explore this city by the golden light of sunset. Despite its impressive skyline and nearly 120 square miles of land, the population is a modest 200,000 people, and they’re all incredibly welcoming. Tonight, we recommend checking out one of the city’s delicious restaurants along the main promenade and waterfront. Our favorites casual joints include Botequim Selrón, El Capitán Parrilla y Bar, and Zephyr Seafood & Nikkei.

Today is all about fabulous shopping, hitting one of the cities renowned beaches like Brava, Cabecudas, and Morcego, or exploring the region’s fascinating sights, including Paroquia Santíssimo Sacramento, the City Center’s Public Market, or Parrot’s Beak. Enjoy the sunshine and good times!

With its beautiful beaches, waterfalls, and unspoiled Atlantic rainforest, Ilhabela is one of the most sought-after getaway destinations for Brazilians from São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Situated on the western side of the gorgeous Litoral Norte coastline, this archipelago is beautiful even in name (ilha bela is Portuguese for “beautiful island”). Prepare to have an unforgettable visit!

Paraty is a gem of an historic town, with its beautifully preserved Portuguese colonial architecture, charming narrow streets, imposing fort, and exquisite churches. One of our favorite things about Paraty is that the town floods nearly every day. You read that correctly… it FLOODS at high tide. The sidewalks are elevated a foot above the cobblestone streets, and during high tides, ocean water pours into the streets. It stirs an unforgettable, surreal scene of colonial buildings reflecting in the flooded streets – a photographer’s dream.

It may be hard to believe this, but this tiny fishing village is often ranked as one of the ten most beautiful spots in the world. The village first became known when actress Brigitte Bardot visited during the prime of her international stardom (there’s a statue paying tribute to her on the Orla Bardot). Today, Búzios is more St. Tropez than a sleepy fishing village. Here, you’ll find some of Brazil’s most beautiful beaches. We encourage you to hit the sand and spend the afternoon sipping delicious caipirinhas as you soak in the sunshine and radiant beauty of all that surrounds you.

The fabulous thing about Rio is that there’s a little bit of Carnival celebrated here every day. From its famous beaches to its iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer, Rio radiates an air of exuberance that’s hard to find anywhere else. Make the scene on trendy Ipanema or take a cable car to the summit of Sugar Loaf Mountain and enjoy the amazing views. We hope you’ll spend at least 3 or 4 days here in Rio before heading onward or home. It’s DEFINITELY worth it. And don’t forget… it’s Saturday night! The city will be bustling with options to enjoy your first night in town.

Enhance the Experience We have been booking with Concierge Travel for many years. They provide access to all of the Gay Travel products available and are able to provide advice on which type of travel or specific trips will meet our needs. Concierge team members often join us on the trip and provide a few little extras to enhance the experience. We would never consider using anyone else.
